Ladies roundup 22nd October 2011 – Let’s look at the positives

Published on 24 October, 2011 by in Ladies, News, Results

After last weeks technical hitch with the web site which took a little while to solve, we’re back with the weekly update and a rather goal packed set of games from the weekend…sadly most of them were against us rather than for :s. 1s were the only team to notch up a win whilst every else got silver medals. Total goals for Broxbourne 12 and against 32. Flying the flag for the club, the lone winners the 1s played a rather clichéd ‘game of two halves’ this week against Letchworth. Broxbourne came out of the blocks with a disciplined first

From one extreme to the other, after playing in the searing 30 degree heat last week,  this week saw the first appearance of the winter baselayers as temperatures plummeted to a more Octobery 13 degrees.  On the pitch the results were as mixed as the recent weather, with the 1s bouncing back from last weeks loss to beat Waltham Forest, the 2s suffering a loss to Royston, the 3s with a last gasp draw, 4s narrowly losing to Saffron Walden and the 5s securing their first points with a draw. The 1s put last weeks defeat behind them to move

Published on 4 October, 2011 by in Fixtures, Mens, Results

The second league games of the season saw the goals continue to flow across all of the Broxbourne’s mens teams. 1st XI The 1s saw an exact change of fortune away against March Town 1st XI. March Town are newly promoted and the Broxbourne 1s, by their own post match admission, had perhaps gone in to the game a little over confident following last week’s victory.  March overwhelmed Broxbourne from the off and had established a three goal lead within 20 minutes. From there it was always going to be an uphill battle, but Broxbourne set off to try and
