Volunteers required for Broxbourne Summer Sports Festival

Can you give an hour to help promote and grow the club at a new sports festival? Active Broxbourne, in conjunction with Broxbourne Council are delighted to present ‘The Summer Sports Festival’ at Broxbourne Sports Club on 27th May 2013. This event gives local sport & leisure organisations a chance to showcase many activities to encourage local residents to play an active part in the community in a physical and healthy way. Men’s Vets in EH Plate Quarter Finals this weekend

The Men’s Vets are off to the south coast on Sunday as they take on Bournemouth in the quarter finals of the England Hockey Men’s Master’s Plate (Over 40′s). Following wins so far over Letchworth, Phoenix and a 3-1 victory over Sudbury in the last round, this is the furthest the team have got in the competition and they’ll be looking to book their place in the semi-finals  in two weeks time. The match kicks off at 13:30 at Chapel Gate, Christchurch

Sportivate sessions for 14-25 year olds

Sportivate is a new scheme from Sport England aimed at encouraging more 14 – 25 year olds to participate in sport. It will be funded by the National Lottery, with £32 million being invested nationally over the next four years. The scheme is part of the mass participation legacy plans for the country from the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Chairman’s Challenge: win kit for your whole team

Sponsorship and advertising challenge set by our chairman, Ian Vickers. In an attempt to lift the finances of Broxbourne Hockey Club, Ian has set the club a challenge to raise £500 per team through advertising or sponsorship. The team to raise the most money (over £400) will have kit purchased for them for the start of next season. If you think you know a company or a local business that could benefit from some advertising at the club, please let your captains know. The deadline is 25th January 2013.

JDR Sports visit 1 December

Just in time for Christmas, JDR Sports (sponsors of 5 counties league) will be spending a day at the club showing their Proskins baselayer products which will be for sale on 1st December or to order if they do not have a particular item of stock on the day. They will also bring along their teamwear products. They do not have a payment card facility as yet and so can only accept cash or cheques or transferring funds online.
