The Men’s Vets are off to the south coast on Sunday as they take on Bournemouth in the quarter finals of the England Hockey Men’s Master’s Plate (Over 40′s). Following wins so far over Letchworth, Phoenix and a 3-1 victory over Sudbury in the last round, this is the furthest the team have got in the competition and they’ll be looking to book their place in the semi-finals in two weeks time. The match kicks off at 13:30 at Chapel Gate, Christchurch

Ladies through to Investec Trophy Quarter Finals this Sunday
The Ladies 1s have made their way through to the Quarter Finals of the Investec Trophy with a 5-1 won over Norwich, match report below: After 2 weeks of cancellations because of the cold weather. Broxbourne played Norwich city 1st team, who are in the equivalent league north division in the ladies trophy match. Broxbourne feeling a bit rusty found it a struggle to put passes together but 15 mins in Emily Wilkins still managed to put 2 goals away in quick sucession against the run of play. Women’s Investec Trophy third round draw
Following the Ladies 1s 5-2 win over East Grinstead, they have been drawn away in the last 16 to Norwich City, who are currently in the relegation places of the East Division 1 North. Match to be played Sunday 5th February View the complete draw here
Mens 1st Oct round up – goals and fun in the sun
The second league games of the season saw the goals continue to flow across all of the Broxbourne’s mens teams. 1st XI The 1s saw an exact change of fortune away against March Town 1st XI. March Town are newly promoted and the Broxbourne 1s, by their own post match admission, had perhaps gone in to the game a little over confident following last week’s victory. Mens friendly round-up 17th Sept
and so to another quick summary of this weekend’s action. We managed to get 5 of the supposed 6 teams out this weekend, so going on the growth between this week and last, we should actually be on for 8 teams next week, but something tells me that is not very likely! Men’s friendlies w/e 10th Sept, 2011
As with the women’s section, we are planning a weekly update of the men’s results, and hopefully interesting tidbits. With the cricket season in the last throes of full swing, and a couple of other administrative issues playing their part, we were limited to putting out 3 teams this weekend, 1st XI, 4th XI, and 5th XI, all playing at home. England Hockey Knockout Competitions Draw 2011/12
The draws have been made for the knockout competitions for the season. The Ladies 1s have been handed a tough draw against local rivals Bishop’s Stortford. The match will be played on October 30th at home. Mens 1s have a bye in the 1st round and will play Saffron Walden 1s away on the 23rd October. Mens Masters Over 40s have a long trip having been drawn away against Pelicans, match to take place on the 9th October. Once times/details are known they’ll be added to the team fixtures page.
